Dear Thomas,
Thank you very much for your prompt response and for answering my questions. Regarding the calculation method and information, I will await the "design" and 3rd documentation.
I would like to briefly confirm your response to the second question. By 'vertical load', do you mean the load in the normal direction to the antenna mounting surface? When mapping the aerodynamic forces obtained from the CFD to the FE model and calculating under the provided boundary conditions, tangential loads also appear in some interface points which have multiple constraint directions. Are we to ignore these tangential loads in the calculations? It would be helpful if this point could be clarified in the documentation as well.
Thank you again for your support,

You are correct that the paper doesn't provide enough information to perform the reserve factor calculations. A separate "design" document will be uploaded by the end of this week which contains all the pertinent data required to perform these calculations. This way all participants can use the same design data. Note that another document will be uploaded describing an example calculation based on the simple structural model. Finally a 3rd document will be supplied shortly with reference data to be applied for uncertainty assessments.
Regarding the second question, I will note that for the present Challenge Problem the detailed design of the interface points should be considered out of scope. The assumption is that all interface points will include some kind of lug-clevis configuration that reacts the vertical load.
Let me know if there are more questions.

Subject: Questions Regarding Strength Assumptions for the Challenge Problem
Dear participants,
I hope you are all doing well.
I believe everyone is currently working on the challenge problem. As a structural engineer's standpoint, I would like to raise two questions regarding strength assumptions as attached.
Before getting into the details of the questions, I would also like to confirm one point:
My understanding is that the strength-related information required to calculate reserve factors-such as materials, fastener types, strengths, geometries, allowable loads, and/or other relevant data-will be provided by the administration so that all participants can work under consistent assumptions.
I would appreciate it if you could confirm whether this understanding is correct.
Kind Regards,
