An amazing year in aerospace! Don't miss this event!

2023-2024 marked another fantastic and historic year for aerospace, especially for the AIAA Los Angeles Section area! The recent successful and exciting responsive space demonstration by the Victus Nox (Millennium Space System) SmallSat. The successful programs of the Northrop Grumman B-21, the lunar landing of the Intuitive Machines' IM-1 / Vega-C / Odysseus lander with their collaborators like the Scorpius Space (Lomita, CA) and Boeing, the 3rd test for the SpaceX's Starship, as well as the rapid advances in e-aircraft/e-VTOL, Blue Origin's Space Station, Northrop Grumman's Lunar Railway with DARPA, and other aerospace technologies and progresses. We are blessed to be in the right place and at the right time! More exciting programs will take place as it goes. There have been also amazing progresses in student activities as well, such as the AIAA CSULB Student Branch's SharkSat-1 for the 2027 NASA Launch to ISS etc. Please join us, have fun and cheer for the great accomplishment for the bright future in aerospace and mankind. The AIAA LA Annual Awards Dinner is also a condensed version of what the Institute / Section have been doing for a long time and a demonstration of our goal / mission / daily actions.

Dr. Jeff Puschell is Chief Engineer, EO/lR Payloads at Northrop Grumman Space Park in Redondo Beach, California. He is an internationally recognized expert in the system engineering of space-based imaging and remote sensing systems. He has >40 years of experience in developing advanced technology infrared and visible wavelength systems for a variety of operational and research applications. Dr. Puschell has authored or coauthored >160 papers on a variety of topics in astrophysics, imaging, remote sensing and optical communication. He was elected to the National Academy of Engineering in 2024 for development of optical, multispectral, and hyperspectral space-based remote sensing systems for Earth observation. Dr. Puschell is an AIAA Fellow and a SPIE Fellow. He and his wife Dana live in Solvang and Hermosa Beach, California.
