Volunteer Bio

Rebecca Myers is the Director of Systems Engineering for Draper and leads a team of highly skilled systems engineers across product lifecycles and various products and customers. Rebecca believes that enabling engineers to do their best work by removing obstacles and finding creative solutions is the fastest way to innovation, growth, and agility.

Rebecca has been involved in guidance and navigation in both the defense and space industries since 2008 and has held positions at Honeywell, Braxon Technologies, Sypris Electronics, and as a US Navy junior officer.  She spent the early part of her career developing a structural design for a small satellite, MidSTAR, that was launched successfully in 2008.  She also developed astrodynamic physics-based models of GPS satellites for command and control capabilities.  At Sypris she was the technical lead for the RASKL, a KYK-13 replacement cryptographic key fill device.  Her last position was as a Senior Technical Manager at Honeywell, leading over 30 systems engineers in guidance and navigation development.

In addition to her technical roles, Rebecca has worked as a high school math teacher.  Rebecca graduated with honors from the United States Naval Academy with a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering (Astro) and holds an M.S. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  Her hobbies include hiking and volunteering with Girl Scouts for both Junior and Cadette troops.
