On behalf of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Northern Ohio Section (NOS), it is my pleasure to announce the winners of the 2024 Young Aerospace Visionaries Contest (YAVC). First I want to thank all of the teachers and parents who encouraged their child/students to participate. I'd also like to thank all of the students for participating. All of the project submissions were imaginative and worth consideration, and all participants should be proud. • 2024 YAVC Kickoff

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Northern Ohio Section (NOS) is announcing its 4th Annual Young Aerospace Visionaries Contest (YAVC). We are interested in knowing what future engineers, scientists, astronauts, pilots, and otherwise creative-minded individuals have to say about the future of air and space travel/exploration, and the technologies that enable it. Therefore, we are challenging students to create a depiction of their vision for a futuristic aerospace‑related topic and to write a short essay to describe and offer rationale for that vision. This year's topic for Kindergarteners through 4th Graders is "My Space House". The topic for 5th - 8th Graders is "A Sustainable Future In-Space". Please check out the "Library" tab for the announcement & application form as well as a supplemental document that provides some additional background about the topics.

The projects will be judged and the best projects will receive awards including cash, free admission to the Great Lakes Science Center, and an invitation to the AIAA NOS Honors and Awards Picnic in the summer. The picnic will provide an opportunity for the students and their families to interact with engineers and scientists working in the aerospace field.

Please consider participating and spreading the word about this opportunity.
