  • Missouri Aviation Historical Society Event

    Title: Missouri Aviators
    Presenter: Ralph Goldsticker, Jr., WW2 Combat Bombardier with the 8th Air Force

    When: March 17, 2019 Sunday (2 PM)
    Where:  1H0 Creve Coeur Airport 14301 Creve Coeur Airport Rd. 63146

    Ralph Goldsticker, Jr. was born in St. Louis on Oct. 26, 1921. On July 6, 1942 he enlisted in the Aviation Cadet Corps, and was discharged on Oct. 20, 1945. The brave Missouri Aviator served the United States with the 728th Sq. Of the 452nd BG as a Bombardier flying in a B-17 with the 8th Air Force, flying out of England, bombing targets in France and Germany. Capt Goldsticker flew 35 combat missions starting on May 27, 1944, and flew 2 missions on D-day, 35th mission was on Oct. 9, 1944. Capt. Goldsticker was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, 5 Air Medals, French Legion of Honor, French Jubilee of Victory medal, Medal from the Russian Government.​

  • AIAA St. Louis Section Awards

    ​Nominations for 2019 AIAA St. Louis Section Awards are open now through March 30. The award categories are as follows:

    • The Lindbergh Award: In Recognition of a Distinguished Contribution in Applying Aerospace Technology to Improving the Quality of Human Life

    • Civic Service Award: In Recognition of an Outstanding Contribution to the Progress of Aerospace Activities in the St. Louis Area

    • Technical Management Award: In Recognition of an Outstanding Accomplishment in Technical Management in Aeronautics and Astronautics

    • Technical Contribution Award: In Recognition of an Outstanding Contribution to the Advancement of the Aerospace Sciences in a Technical Discipline by a Section Member or Team of Members

    • Section Service Award: In Recognition of an Outstanding Contribution to the Section’s Activities by a Member

    • Educator Associate Members Award: In Recognition of An Outstanding Contribution by an Educator to STEM activities

    • Faculty Advisor Award: The Faculty Advisor Award is presented to the officially recognized faculty advisor of a chartered AIAA Student Branch who, in the opinion of student branch members and the AIAA Student Activities Committee, has made outstanding contributions as a student branch faculty advisor.

    • Young Professional Award: This award recognizes outstanding technical accomplishments of young engineers and scientists in the aerospace field.

    Please see the links below to the files for the award nomination forms and additional information. Nominees are not required to be AIAA members.

    Award nomination forms are due by Friday, March 30.

  • AIAA - St. Louis Announces 2019 Scholarship Offering

    ​Attention, students!

    The AIAA -St. Louis Section is pleased to announce that it is once again offering two academic scholarships for the 2019-2020 academic year to students meeting the eligibility requirements listed in the application form.

    The complete submission package is due by April 30, 2019.  All applicants will be informed of the outcome no later than June 15, 2019.
