As adjunct faculty, I provide academic support in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) for Crafton Hills College students. I identify student research opportunities and lead events that encourage student interest in STEM.
At Lockheed Martin Skunk Works, I developed the company Sustainable Design Program and managed a portfolio of R&D projects to reduce environmental impacts and develop more sustainable products. I led a three-year project to integrate bioinspired design into the Skunk Works technology and product development process. I created a corporate-wide Engineering eForum on Biomimicry and published a Nature Inspired Design SharePoint for the Skunk Works. Integrating biomimicry into the product and technology development process is not only an effective means of sparking innovation but also instills a culture of sustainable product design for engineers.
